Ho Chi Minh City Police Department launches counter-traffic violation campaign

The campaign is in response to the Ministry of Public Security's plan to ensure traffic order and safety on National Highway 20 and National Highway 1A from Lam Dong to Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, units under the Traffic Police Sub-Department  are supposed to increase patrols and strictly handle traffic violations around the clock, with a focus on inspecting vehicles at passenger bus stations and cargo deports.

Under the plan, local traffic police forces focus on checking passenger and cargo vehicles for traffic safety and strictly handling violations that are the direct cause of traffic accidents such as driving under the influence, speeding, overloading, driving in the wrong lane, and stopping and parking in the wrong places.

Apart from handling violations, local traffic police forces coordinate with local authorities to organize public meetings on traffic order and safety.

The Traffic Police Sub-Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has also made public the hotline number of 0326.08.08.08 so that people can report traffic violations to the traffic police.
